David Henke Summary

"[Great Grace World Outreach] has been turned inside out by controversies swirling around it. First, the Dissidents began speaking up on the Internet and garnered the attention of many still unaware of the problems of spiritual abuse and aberrant doctrines. Among those whose eyes were being opened were the pastors of affiliated churches, of which there are nearly a hundred. When the leaders of GGWO put forward a highly respected nominee to succeed Carl Stevens as senior pastor there was a uproar from the old line Loyalists. Stevens expressed his displeasure at the nomination and so it was withdrawn. The next nominee was Stevens' own choice and that rankled the affiliate pastors who saw it as a move back toward more control and authoritarianism. The opportunity to repent for past errors and reform to a grace oriented fellowship seemed thwarted."
